If you own an Office 365 subscription there is no additional cost to use those same licenses in Zettagrid VM or VDC. You can use them on premise and in Zettagrid at the same time!

Which Office 365 products can I install and use on Zettagrid?
The following Office 365 products can be installed to Zettagrid:
- Office 365 Pro Plus
- Office 365 Project Professional
- Office 365 Visio Professional
Note that only the 2013 and 2016 editions are eligible for Shared Computer Activation.
Which Office 365 Subscriptions are eligible?
Any subscription containing Office 365 ProPlus entitlement. As of writing this includes:
- Office 365 Pro Plus
- Office 365 Enterprise E3
- Office 365 Enterprise E4 (discontinued)
- Office 365 Enterprise E5
The following subscriptions are NOT eligible
- Office 365 Business
- Office 365 Business Premium
You can however switch plans to an eligible plan.
Do I have a choice of 32bit or 64bit versions of Office 365?
Microsoft recommends the installation of 32bit Office 365 unless there is a specific need for 64bit Office 365. This recommendation is for compatibility reasons as many applications and office plugins have only been tested with and support 32bit Office 365.
The 64bit versions of Office 365 are only recommended for Excel users with large spreadsheets (2GB or greater) and Project users dealing with large and complex project files.
For these reasons the 64bit Office 365 is only available by special request.
Will deploying to Zettagrid count towards my 5 installation limit?
No, licenses deployed via SCA to Zettagrid will not show in your Office 365 license portal or count towards the 5 install limit.
What versions of Windows can I use for Office 365 on Zettagrid?
Office 365 products can be installed only on the following operating systems:
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2008 R2
How do I deploy Office 365 to my Zettagrid VMs?
Easy! first you must have a license agreement with Microsoft that includes the relevant products (Office 365 Pro Plus, Visio Pro or Project Pro). You need to register your Office 365 licenses by listing the relevant Office 365 products on this form. There is no cost associated with adding Office 365 to Zettagrid, but in order to satisfy Microsoft reporting requirements you MUST register the product and number of users.
Once you have accepted the terms and conditions and submitted the form our staff will arrange for the installation of the Office 365 products to your nominated Windows VM(s).

As an Office 365 subscriber why can’t I just install Office Pro Plus myself?
Doing so will violate your agreement with Microsoft. Under the terms of the program, Office 365 must be installed in ‘Shared Computer Activation’ (SCA) mode. This installation mode is different to a normal retail or volume license installation. Please use the Office 365 License form to register your Office 365 licenses for use with Zettagrid and we will provide the relevant Office deployment tool and configuration file.
As a Zettagrid Partner, can my customers use their Office 365 licenses on Zettagrid?
Yes, they can.
You must accept and sign the supplemental partner agreement “Office 365 Shared Computer Activation Partner Agreement” in the partner portal. Please see your Account Manager for further details.
